The Kia EV6 was voted European Car of the Year by automotive industry journalists. This is the first time that a model from this Korean factory has been awarded this title. The EV6 competed for the top spot against six other cars, including five electric models. The best car of the year is chosen by an independent company with the support of 9 automotive magazines in Europe. Usually, the judges include 61 journalists from 23 countries, but this year, due to the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, the votes of Russian journalists were not taken into account, and 59 journalists chose the car of the year. After the Kia EV6, the electric car Renault Megane E-Tech scored the most points and finished second. The Hyundai Ionic 5 also came in third with a very short distance.
